Autumn Gerrish Wins First Place in 2010 Legion Essay Contest

WHS sophomore Autumn Gerrish won first prize in the Local 2010 American Legion Auxiliary Essay Contest. This year’s essay topic was “My patriotic role as an American Citizen.”
Gerrish won first prize in the division open to ninth and tenth graders. The division had 65 entries from Wahoo High School. For her excellent writing, Gerrish received the top prize of twenty-five dollars.
WHS sophomore Emma Harris captured second place and won fifteen dollars, and WHS sophomore Alison Brodahl took third place and won ten dollars.
