Knowlton achieves Wahoo's highest score

The math students at Wahoo High School made history in November by bringing the most students in their class to UNL’s annual Math Day competition, which was held on campus on Thursday, Nov. 19.

The students, who ranged from sophomores to seniors, competed for scholarships and battled it out in quiz bowl rounds.

Shawn Knowlton came away with the highest score for Wahoo in the 1st round competition for scholarship moneys.

The students were able to explore the campus and eat among the college students in the school dorms. At the end of the day, the students enjoyed a math science fair where they put their minds to the test with complex puzzles, hands-on experiments, and interaction with the UNL staff.
