Autumn Iversen: Runza Student of the Week!

WHS senior recognized for academic & athletic excellence

Congratulations to WHS senior Autumn Iversen, who was recently announced as Runza's Student of the Week!

"Balancing homework, school & community involvement, and one's personal life is a difficult challenge in high school. Some students do this so well we feel they should be recognized," commented Runza's website. "Runza Restaurants and KETV created a partnership to honor senior students for their achievements in the classroom and in the community and provide them a $500 scholarship for college."

Iversen received the award for her excellence in the classroom, athletics, school activities, and in her service to the community. She is the daughter of Jayson and Lora Iversen of Wahoo, and was nominated for the award by two of her coaches: Warrior Softball Head Coach Trina Christen and Basketball Head Coach Sean Forbes.

"Autumn is a very deserving student-athlete to receive this award," Christen commented. "Her character, dedication, leadership and work ethic are what have made her into the student-athlete she is."

"Autumn is most deserving of this award. She represents Wahoo Public Schools in many positive ways, and I am very proud of her and proud to be able to coach her," Forbes said.

Iversen has an impressive 3.97 GPA. She is a starter in both softball and basketball, president of the WHS Future Business Leaders of Amerca (FBLA). Iversen is also a member of the National Honor Society, and participates in Multicultural Club and the WHS Blue Crue. Next year she plans to start her journey toward a bachelors degree in business administration and management.

“As a student and as a leader, Autumn embraces humility," said WHS Counselor John Harris. "She is fully confident in her skills and abilities, inside and outside of the classroom; yet, she recognizes that there is more to learn and she seeks opportunities for personal growth. She embraces the need to listen to others and values feedback. Those are skills that make her a unique and very effective role model and leader at Wahoo High School.”

Congratulations Autumn on earning this honor!
