"I was pleased with the way that we played in the first half. In the second half, we didn't shoot it as well, and when they started hitting from the outside, the game got away from us. They have a lot of weapons offensively. They have two very good guards, and two good big men. Ben S. played very well for us on both ends of the floor. It was good to see Greg S. knock down some shots from the perimeter for us," commented Head Coach Kevin Scheef.
Returning All Stater Casey S. led Syracuse with 23 points. Pat L. added 17. Greg S. led the Warriors with 11 points on three treys and Ben S. added ten points and had seven blocked shots on the defensive end. Tom D. had six assists and Tyler P. had five assists. "I was
proud of how hard the kids competed tonight.
We gave a
great effort against a very good team.
We played them
very tough for three quarters.
The opening
two minutes of the fourth quarter, when their lead went from 2 to
9, proved to be too much for us to overcome.
We have played
a brutal three-game stretch against great teams.
In each game,
we have played very well at times, but just not consistently enough
for 32 minutes.
We hope that
this competition is going to pay off and really help us for the
rest of the season.
Ben S. played
a terrific game tonight.
He went right
at Aquinas 6'9" senior post who has started for two years, and
did a great job.
Ben's
confidence has really grown over the past few games.
Greg S. also
played very well tonight, and is growing in confidence
also,"
said Head
Coach Kevin Scheef.
Junior Ben S. scored a career high 22 points and had 10 rebounds and 3 blocks. Greg S. had 11 points on 3 treys and Nick M. added 10 points. Brian B. had 21 points on 5 treys, Jared B. scored 15 points, and Kyle E. added 12 points.
Aquinas improves to 8-1, while Wahoo drops to 5-4. Wahoo will next face D.C. West next Saturday in Valley.

We took good care of the basketball tonight. Ben Shanahan played very well for us again tonight. Justin Barry and Greg Sohl shot it very well from the perimeter tonight. It was a solid team effort," said Head Coach Kevin Scheef.
