2020-2021 physical & parent consent forms posted
Due to COVID-19, NSAA requires updated forms only for incoming 7th & 9th graders
PLEASE NOTE: In April, the NSAA Sports Medicine Advisory Committee (SMAC) met to discuss the annual requirement for all athletes to have a Pre-Participation Physical Evaluation (PPE) on file prior to the start of their respective regular season practice.
Health care providers in the state are experiencing changing demands to deal with COVID-19. These changes are causing them to postpone most, if not all, non-essential wellness and maintenance visits.
As the committee discussed further, it became clear that the health care system in Nebraska will not have the capacity to meet the requirements in place by the NSAA for all athletes to have these PPE's administered in the timeline that starts no earlier than May 1.
The NSAA SMAC unanimously recommended to the NSAA board that all PPE's for the 2019-2020 school year be acceptable for the 2020-2021 seasons. This recommendation would be for a one-year exemption only, and would not include incoming freshmen and 7th grade students.
Therefore, if your student has a PPE on file at Wahoo Public Schools from the 2019-2020 school year, that PPE will be valid for the 2020-2021 school year.
If your student is an incoming freshman or 7th grade student, and would like to participate in Wahoo Public Schools activities, those students WILL NEED to get a PPE prior to the start of their regular season practice.
