Wahoo High School Collects 1,777 Cans in Food Drive
This year Student Council and FBLA teamed up for Wahoo High School’s annual canned food drive, and in the process raised a lot of food for needy families in Saunders County.
Student Council and FBLA’s goal was to collect 1,000 cans, but the students and staff at Wahoo High School well exceeded that goal, raising 1,777 canned goods. All items will be donated to the Saunders County Food Pantry.
Homerooms competed with one another to see which class could raise the most cans. For two weeks, students and staff members from each homeroom collected cans and reported their totals to StuCo and FBLA officers. A running tally was kept on a poster in the cafeteria.
When it is was all said and done, Mr. Kevin Scheef’s homeroom finished first with a total of 350 cans and won a pizza party for their homeroom in January.
Here are the top 5 homerooms:
Scheef – 350
Shannon – 314
Anderson – 245
Mueller – 199
Hildebrand – 194
Thank you to all who participated to make this event such a success.
