2012-2013 WHS Speech Team Finds Success at Ashland's Oxbow Tournament

Vrana Takes First Place Medal in Persuasion!

Four members of the Wahoo High School Forensics (Speech Performance) Team competed with 18 other teams at the Oxbow Speech Tournament in Ashland on Saturday, January 12.

Andrew Smith placed third in one of his rounds in the Persuasive event, and Rachel Hrdlicka and Emily Colgan received "Excellent" ratings from both of their judges--Rachel in the Oral Interpretation of Poetry event, and Emily in Oral Interpretation of Serious Prose.

Evann Vrana was the champion in the Persuasive event, receiving "Superior" ratings from both of her judges and bringing home the first place medal!

"It was a great opportunity for the students to 'get their feet wet' and be judged," said WHS Forensics Coach Jill Colgan. "We look forward to improving as we continue our speech season!"
