District and Class of 2004 Mourn the Loss of an Artistic Talent
Wahoo Public Schools received word yesterday of the tragic loss of another recent graduate.
Kandyse Maly, a member of the WHS Class of 2004, was killed in a single vehicle accident Monday morning in Western Douglas County.
Kandyse was known for her artistic talents. Her creative skills shined in her visual arts courses and in yearbook, where she designed the cover of the 2003-2004 Thunderbird. Kandyse was a kind, helpful and independent spirit. She was viewed as a mentor by younger students.
During her high school years, Kandyse was involved in dance squad, Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA), Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA), Family, Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA), and softball.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 16, at 10:30 a.m. at St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church in Weston, NE. An evening service and visitation will be held on Friday, December 15 at the St. John Nepomucene Catholic School gymnasium. The thoughts and prayers of everyone associated with the Wahoo Public Schools go out to the family and friends of Kandyse during this very difficult time.
