Erin Walker and Darcy Barry run the 800m run at the 2011 State Track Meet. Walker finished the race in 11th with a time of 2:25.827, and Barry finished in 15 place with a time of 2:28.053.
Erin Walker and Michaela Curran run in the 1600m run at the 2011 State Track Meet. Walker finished the race in 10th place with a time of 5:32.023, and Curran finished in 11th place with a time of 5:33.261.
Warrior boys and girls track both brought home the 2011 Capitol Conference Championship on April 30.

The Wahoo Girls track team traveled to Seward on May 12 for the B3 District track meet. Although the B3 District was projected as the strongest in Class B, the Warriors rose to the occasion, finishing 4th in the team standings with 65 points, sending 10 athletes to the Nebraska State Track meet in Omaha Burke. The Wahoo Girls track team traveled to Arlington on May 6 for the Arlington Invitational, the last regular season meet of the year. The Warriors used the warm weather to improve on their times heading into Districts, and in the process, were able to capture the championship with a score of 124 points. The Wahoo Warrior Boys Track Team edged out another victory on Friday, by beating Bennington by half of a point to win the Arlington Invite. It took another tremendous team effort to find a way to win this last invite of the regular season. There were 12 Personal Records or Season Bests, as well as 3 “Meet Records” set by the Warriors. The boys took every opportunity to tune up their efforts before next week’s District Meet. (SB = Season Best, PR = Personal Record)

The Wahoo Warrior Boys Track team competed at the North Bend Invitational on Tuesday. On a very cool, breezy day the Warrior Boys did very well scoring 78 points and finishing 4th as a team. The Wahoo Warrior Girls Track team competed at the North Bend Invitational on Tuesday. Throughout the day, the emphasis was on “quality, not quantity,” as the Warriors focused on fewer events, in getting ready for the Central Conference meet on Saturday, but the Warriors were still able to come out victorious, scoring 130 pts, to capture the team title. The Wahoo Warrior Boys Track Team finished as runners-up on Monday at their home invite. The Boys Varsity Track Team finished with 94 team points on the day.

It was a difficult day for setting great marks with the weather, but we had a few performers that stepped up and competed.

The Wahoo Varsity Girls Track team rose to the occasion at the Milford Invite, capturing the championship with a score of 131 points, outdistancing the runner-up Tri County by 48 points, despite missing several prominent point scorers. The warm weather and strong competition served as a great tune-up for the upcoming Wahoo Invite on April 16. (Personal Record = PR, Season Best = SB)
