Wahoo Softball Team Hosts July 31 Fundraiser at Hackberry Park

Event Features Bake Sale, Home Run Derby, and Coed Slow Pitch Softball Tournament

The WHS Softball Team will hold a fundraiser on Saturday, July 31, 2010, at Hackberry Park in Wahoo (Rain date: Sunday, August 1, 2010).

BAKE SALE & FULL CONCESSIONS
    * Available all day

HOME RUN DERBY
    * $5 for 5 outs
    * Each hit ball that is not a home run is counted as an out
    * Provide your own pitcher and softballs
    * Males & females will be in two separate divisions
    * Top male & female will win half of their division's pot

ONE DAY DOUBLE ELIMINATION TOURNAMENT
    * $150 entree fee per team - DUE BY July 15, 2010

Tournament Rules:

1.) Each team will hit the softballs they provided. Balls will be 44 core/375 compression. Men will hit a 12” softball and women will hit an 11” softball

2.) One hour time limit. No new inning after 55 minutes.

3.) All batters will start with a one and one count
    -No courtesy foul
    -If ball hits the carpet behind the plate it is a strike    
    -Males gets two bases on a walk/females get one
    -On two outs if males walks/female has the option to walk
    -Alternate Male/Female in the lineup - open substitution

4.) Run rule: 15-3rd inning     10-5th inning

5.) Defense: 2 male/2 female outfield
                2 male/2 female infield
                Pitcher/Catcher to alter Male/Female

6.) Homerun Rule- Each team is allowed 3 out of the park homeruns. After 3 this infraction will incur an automatic out.

7.) Extra Inning-International rule-last out of previous inning will start as runner on 2nd base

8.) There will be a 200' line marked in the outfield for the outfielders when a female is up to bat. Outfield must remain behind the line until the ball has been hit.

9.) The home team is responsible for keeping the official book. This book must be turned into the concession stand at the end of the game.

10.) Each team will provide a player to umpire the next game unless they are scheduled to play again. We will try to have our girls to assist as much as possible, but we still may need your help.

11.) Each player must be 18 years of age or graduated from high school.

12.) The use of any type of tobacco product will not be allowed in the dugouts or on the playing field. Alcohol is strictly forbidden in any area of the Hackberry complex.

13.) NO METAL SPIKES ALLOWED.

14.) The two teams in the championship game can decide ahead of time if they want to play a single game for winner takes all or if the loser wins they will then have another game.

*** Try to have your team at field 15 minutes before game time. Your game will start following completion of previous game-even if ahead of schedule. Remember, this is a fundraising tournament and we are all out here for a good cause.
