2009 Freshman Orientation Set for August 17
Incoming Students and Parents Asked to Attend
June 10, 2009
Being an incoming freshman can be a stressful experience. Fortunately, WHS offers freshmen and their parents a chance to familiarize themselves with their schedules and teachers, and get all of their questions answered before the first day of school.
The WHS Freshman and Family Orientation will be Monday, August 17, 2009 from 5:00 to 8:30 p.m. Freshmen students will receive their schedules at the door and have a potluck dinner.
AGENDA
5:00-7:00
p.m. Pick-up your class
schedule at the front table and rotate to:
* Potluck supper in the Commons from
5:15-6:45 p.m.
* Student school photos in the pod area.
Bring school photo packet and payment for photos, and please dress
appropriately.
* Health screenings in the library: audio
& vision testing, height/weight
* "The High School Teen Pop Culture" for
PARENTS ONLY in the gym at 5:45 p.m.
7:00 p.m. Mini
school day begins
* Parents and students go to scheduled
classrooms
* Health screenings for those in "study
hall" who haven't been yet
* On-going student photos for those in
"study hall"
8:15 p.m. Return
to Commons
* Student Council's "What Not to Wear in
High School" fashion show
* Drawings for family packets and other
goodies (must be present to win)
