2011 Freshman Orientation Set for August 16
Incoming Students and Parents Asked to Attend
Being an incoming freshman can be a stressful experience. Fortunately, WHS offers freshmen and their parents a chance to familiarize themselves with their schedules and teachers, and get all of their questions answered before the first day of school.
The 2011 WHS Freshman and Family Orientation will be Tuesday, August 16 from 5:15-8:15 p.m.
Freshman students will receive their schedules at the door.
This year's guest speaker is from Girls and Boys Town on "The High School Culture 101" for the PARENTS ONLY presentation that will begin at 5:50 p.m., or shortly thereafter, in the gymnasium.
At 7:00 p.m., students/parents will head out to their classrooms to meet their teachers as part of a mini-school day schedule.
From 5:15 to 7:00 p.m., students will be able to have their school photos taken, do their school health screening, and check out some of the clubs and organizations offered to high school students.
The evening will end with National Honor Society and Student Council members putting on a "What Not to Wear in High School" fashion show, after which there will be drawings for Family Packets and other prizes. Students must be present to win.
If you have any questions, please contact the high school office at 443-4332.
