Teammates Book Vending Machine Arrives (Wahoo Middle School)
Posted Date: 08/27/26 (10:54 AM)
The TeamMates book vending machine is stocked and ready for the school year!
Thanks to the Nebraska READ grant, Wahoo Middle School received a book vending machine to support literacy in grades 5-8. The vending machine is a visible, exciting, school-wide symbol that reading is valued and celebrated.
This isn't just for our TeamMates matches, but it does give our Mentors another way to support a student's academic success and learn about their interests and build confidence. The READ grant also provides games and activities our matches can do together during their weekly meetings.
All middle school students will have the opportunity to earn tokens that can be used to choose a book they are excited about -and most importantly- take them home to keep.
We are excited to make reading a reward, not just an assignment!
