One Hour Makes a Difference to Our Students!
Saunders County TeamMates in Need of Local Mentors
"If we are going to make a difference with today's children, we have to get involved with them as one-to-one mentors." --Dr. Tom Osborne
This simple statement is where it all began. Dr. Tom Osborne saw a need, and he filled it.
In 1991, he started a non-profit organization called TeamMates. TeamMates is a one-to-one mentoring program that matches caring adults in your community with youth in your school. The mission of TeamMates is to positively impact the world by inspiring youth to reach their full potential. We also call it the "one hour difference," because that is all it takes--a volunteer from the community who can meet with a student for one hour every week during the school year. Mentors give youth a sense of hope, purpose and vision. Today, TeamMates reaches over 5,000 students in Nebraska, Kansas, and Iowa.
