FCA Sponsors Concert Featuring International Children's Choir

Children of the World Stops at WHS during 2005-2006 U. S. Tour

December 19, 2005

On the evening of Wednesday, December 14, the Children of the World choir came to the FCA meeting to perform for the community and FCA students.  The children in the choir ranged in age from six to eleven, and hailed from the countries of India, Uganda, Africa, Brazil, and the Philippines.

Mike and Christa Hahn are the team leaders of the children's choir.  Mike was born and raised in Lincoln, Nebraska.  Their prayer through this experience is that each of the children will come to know Jesus Christ in a deeper and more personal way.

This International Children's Choir offers these performances for free-will donations. Their goal is to raise $390,000 to build ten Good Samaritan Children's Centers in Northern Uganda.  These centers will provide education, clothing, medicine, and trauma counseling. They are also teaming up with Michael Tait of the Christian band DC Talk to provide medical clinics for the neediest areas in Africa.

A group of women from Calvary Church in Wahoo, hosted a dinner for the children before their performance.  The FCA Leadership Team and their leaders, Ms. Russ and Ms. Huenink, served and helped with food preparations, and were also able to eat with the children and listen to their interesting stories.

At 7:00 p.m., the seventeen children walked down the stairs of the Little Theatre and began their performance to an audience of FCA and other community members. They performed quite a few songs, and also showed a video about the "forgotten children" in Northern Uganda.  The video was very moving.

After the video, the children came back out to perform a couple more songs, and at the end, they walked out into the audience and hugged everyone.

Objective of Children of the World:

Ministering in more than 57 countries, World Help has seen firsthand the desperate needs of children around the world. We believe that children are one of the forgotten "unreached" people groups. Each year, over 12 million children die from preventable diseases, one billion live in poverty, and a staggering 153 million children under the age of five suffer from hunger.

Our desire is to generate compassion and inspire individuals to get involved in helping to change the world . . . one child at a time.

World Help is proud to introduce Children of the World International Children's Choir. This group of very special children, from many different countries, will be performing across the United States during their 2005-2006 tour.
