Warrior One Act takes 3rd place @ season-opening York production competition!

Community performance of "Life of Riley" scheduled for Tues., Nov. 28 @ 8 p.m. in P-LC.

The Wahoo High School One Act Play Production team opened their season by winning 3rd place in the Large Division at the York "K-Dub" Play Production Competition on Nov. 11! The team presented "The Life of Riley 1929," an original play written by Anne Bowman of Wahoo. Mrs. Bowman is a former drama and speech teacher at Bruning-Davenport, where her speech and one act play production teams won several state championships. "The Life of Riley" follows the final day of Riley Muldoon's life. Muldoon gets the opportunity to reflect on his life during the stock market crash of 1929. Warrior Chess team prepares for Nov. 18 Great Plains Open

The Wahoo High School Chess Club opened their season on October 28 at the Rated Open at the University of Nebraska at Omaha. Sophomore Marshall Elder captured the first place trophy in the Under 700 rated division. Fellow sophomore Alex Tomjack took the championship in the Under 600 rated division and broke into Wahoo High School’s all-time ratings in the tenth spot with a 485 USCF rating. Junior Mat Wolf took third place in the Under 800 rated division, while his classmate, Noah Polacek, scored two points (one point is given for a win, and one half point for a draw) in the under 1600 rated division.
