WMS/WHS 1to1 iPad Deployment
ATTENTION PARENTS: Required Informational Meeting Dates Announced
Welcome back students and parents!
Wahoo Middle and High Schools are excited to continue their 1:1 iPad initiative for the upcoming school year! Here is some key information about the WPS iPad deployment:
2017 DATES FOR PARENT/STUDENT iPAD INFORMATION 7 DEPLOYMENT MEETINGS:
• Grades 7 & any new students to the district: Tues., August 15 @ 8:00 p.m. in the Performance-Learning Center
• iPad Deployment Dates: Wed., Thurs., Fri., August 16-18 (during the school day)
District leaders will review the iPad Policy and Procedures manual, address frequently asked questions and provide basic information about the deployment and use of the devices for the upcoming school year. At the end of each meeting, students and parents will be dismissed to sign the contracts found in the back of the iPad Policy and Procedures manual and to collect their iPads. This manual can be accessed by clicking HERE.
Each student and an accompanying parent must attend the scheduled meeting in order to receive an iPad, case and charger. iPads will not be handed out during the regular school day. The $35 insurance fee will need to be paid before the student receives an iPad. In addition, all outstanding school fines from the previous school year must be paid prior to the student receiving an iPad. The iPad insurance fee and school fines (except library fines, which must be paid at school) can be paid in advance of the parent/student meeting by accessing our E-Funds system (button located on the left side of this website), or by contacting the middle or high school offices. As a reminder, using our E-Funds system requires you to set up an account using your child's student ID. Please contact your child's school secretary if you need that number. It is advised to pay in advance in order to speed up the checkout process that evening.
Each student must have his/her own iTunes account before receiving an iPad (If your child already has an iTunes account, then disregard the following information). An iTunes account requires the creation of an Apple ID. An Apple ID is the student's user name for everything he/she will do with an Apple device. This ID must be the student's own personal Apple ID, not a shared family account. Apple IDs for students under 13 years of age will need to be created by a parent or guardian, using the student's e-mail address and the parent/guardian's information and birth date.
Wahoo Public Schools will be purchasing a number of electronic applications (apps) for your child. More information about this will be available at each of the parent/student meetings noted above.
We are very excited that our students will be participating in this engaging experience and we are looking forward to meeting with you at the upcoming meetings. If you have any questions in advance, feel free to contact us.
Yours in Learning,

|This is going to be really good for the kids to learn on and they will really adapt to technology they will need in life . I still wish we had key boarding for them as a class they really need this class first in the lower grades.|
