Counseling student joins WMS
Mrs. Lana Robinson will assist counseling 7/8th grade students for Spring 2017 semester
Lana Robinson will be working with the Wahoo Middle School staff and students as a practicing counseling student for the Spring 2017 semester. Robinson is a graduate student at Wayne State College, working toward earning her Master of Science in Education Degree for School Counseling in grades 7-12.
Many families already know Mrs. Robinson in her role at Wahoo High School as a Career Academy Coordinator for the north region of the Southeast Nebraska Career Academy Partnership (SENCAP) program through Southeast Community College. She also holds a teaching certificate in the area of secondary social sciences, and student taught at Wahoo Middle School.
Robinson's passion is helping all students feel safe and comfortable at school so they can learn to the best of their abilities. She believes that the role of a school counselor is to help students focus on academic, career and social/emotional development so they achieve success in school and are prepared to lead fulfilling lives as responsible members of society.
Robinson will be supporting Mr. Harris in providing school counseling services for 7th and 8th grade students on Fridays throughout the remainder of the 2016-17 school year, meeting with students individually, in small groups and conducting classroom instruction.
