Fundraiser scheduled to help WPS employee's fight against cancer
Please support Doug Worley by attending Aug. 8 event at Wahoo Eagles Club
Please help us help Doug Worley in his fight against cancer!
Doug is a 52-year-old bus driver for Wahoo Public Schools. This past spring, Doug was diagnosed with throat cancer.
In the past, Doug has also worked during the summer months with Subbert Irrigation, but due to his illness he has not been able to work since the end of May. As a result, his medical bills are mounting up.
We will be hosting a fundraiser for Doug on Saturday, August 8, at 6:00 p.m. at the Eagles Club in Wahoo (140 W. 5th Street).
The fundraiser will feature a pulled pork sandwich meal with a silent auction. The cost for the meal is $6.00 or a free will donation, which includes a sandwich, chips, salads, dessert and a drink.
All proceeds will be run through an account for Doug at Wahoo Public Schools. Money will go for food, travel and medical expenses. Anything you could donate toward the silent auction for this event would be very helpful! We thank you from the bottom of our hearts. This family has had many struggles, including the loss of their son in a tragic car accident in 2006.
If you have any questions, or would like to donate items for the silent auction, please contact Kris or Kathy at 402-443-3051.
Thank you for your support of this family!
