WHS & Other Area Sophomores, Juniors & Seniors Encouraged to Participate in Upcoming ACT Test Prep Sessions
April 9 Test Date Fast Approaching!
by WHS Guidance Couselor Terry Kopish
February 24, 2011
Dear Senior, Junior & Sophomore Parent/Guardians:
Wahoo High School will host an ACT test prep geared to the April 9, 2010 test date for students in Wahoo and the surrounding area. WHS faculty will teach the test prep sessions using a variety of resources.
This test prep is open to sophomores planning to take the ACT in the fall of their junior year, and all current juniors and seniors. Please note that most of the Distance Learning, dual credit classes or "Career Academy" courses for 2011-2012, require either ACT or COMPASS scores as prerequisites. ACT has two remaining test dates for this year: the April 9 test date and the June 11 test date. The COMPASS may be taken at any junior college, but the student needs to contact the testing center at the college and may be charged a fee. The COMPASS is a junior college placement test created by ACT, Inc.
The ACT preparation classes will be held at Wahoo High School, either in the Library Board Room or the teacher's classroom, from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. on the following Wednesday nights:
March 16 Session 1: English
March 30 Session 2: Science
April 6 Session 3: Math
The ACT Test Prep fee is $50. Fee & registration is due by March 10 to the WHS Guidance Office. Checks need to be made out to “Wahoo High School” with “Test Prep” written in the memo line. The retake fee is $25 for students who participated in the WHS Test Prep last spring.
Please click HERE to access the registration form. Sign up early. Seating is limited due to the fact this program is offered to Cedar Bluffs and Bishop Neumann students as well as WHS students. Students will be accepted on a first come, first served basis.
We hope you take advantage of this opportunity to prepare for college entrance testing.
Sincerely,
Jason Libal
